Academic Plan This page was last reviewed on August 30, 2011

Independent Studies offers a non-traditional approach to education for the non-traditional student. This is a unique and highly focused program with a limited enrollment, not intended for everyone.

You complete two distinct phases of study: pre-thesis and thesis whether you are registered in the three-year general program or four-year Honours program.

In the pre-thesis phase, under the guidance of academic advisors, you determine and carry-out your study objectives and in the process you establish the skills you need for goal setting and reporting on your independent progress.

In the thesis project phase, you further research and prepare a thesis project under the direction of faculty supervisors.
