I came into IS in September 2007 with some quite definite ideas, and even more definite expectations. The next three years were characterized by a series of mental readjustments, and the upshot of it all is that I now realise, as never before, how very little I really know. This awareness is occasionally liberating and often exasperating, but it is always important to keep in mind.

My studies have ranged through a number of areas. For my thesis, I hope to focus on the role of narrative and/or fiction in shaping cultural conceptions of the self. I am also completing a concurrent BA in Political Science and a certificate in French.

Areas of interest include creative writing, current events (particularly international relations), international development issues (economics, environment, and questions of social justice), physics and metaphysics, consciousness, folklore in its many manifestations, and culture-wide shifts in thought.

I always enjoy meeting other ISers and hearing what they’re working on. I’m frequently in the IS common space, so if you see me there, feel free to introduce yourself.
